미학적 주체로서의 포스트휴먼 ? = Post-human as an aesthetic subject

This paper attempts to classify the subject discourse surrounding post-human by type and to examine what theoretical problems arise in aesthetic dimension. This article focuses on the post-human concept of the subject because it sees the key to overcoming modern humanism in seeking a new identity about the subject. The crisis of humanism is that the status of the subject, which is at the center of humanism, is in crisis as the structural others of the modern subject are revived. Post structuralism emerged as criticizing it by the demolition of the concept of subject, reduction of subject, denial of subject. On the other hand, post structuralism has led to the problem of loss of subjectivity. In this context, it is noticed how post-humanism presents the position of the subject. In this respect, it is essential that the subject concept of post - human discourse is examined to see what difference it has with humanism. To this end, we tried to classify the post-human formation theories of subjectivity into four types by attempting to classify them in terms of developmental, structural, and epistemological dimensions and tried to investigate what kinds of subject types conflict with aesthetic theory. As a preliminary work, we reviewed the process of Baumgarten's concept of the subject and Herder' s subject concept developed differently in the tradition of aesthetics. As a result, we can see that the former presents a different aesthetic experience, and the latter presents a different human image as a subject of aesthetic power. In the latter case, we overcome the subjectivity of reason center in that it is a concept that encompasses the potential to move toward aesthetic reflection that touches the underlying nature through sensory experience, affirming sensory action capturing feeling from object. I could see that it could be planned as a subjectivity that encompasses lively emotions and reflexive reason. In this context, one of the four types of Post Human, robot or artificial intelligence, has come to the conclusion that it can not be established as aesthetic subject when applied to the theory of aesthetics such as aesthetic power, aesthetic experience, and aesthetic sense.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글은 포스트휴먼을 둘러싼 담론들을 주체 형성의 관점에서 유형별로 살피고, 미학적 차원에서 어떤 쟁점을 가져오는지 검토하고자 했다. 이 글이 포스트휴먼의 주체 개념에 주목한 이유는 근대 휴머니즘을 극복하는 핵심을 주체에 관한 새로운 정체성 모색에 있다고 보기 때문이다. 근대 휴머니즘의 위기는 주체의 위상이 위기에 처한 것이고, 이를 비판한 포스트구조주의는 주체의 해체, 주체의 죽음 등을 통해 주체를 부정했다. 그 결과 이는 주체성 상실이라는 문제를 초래하게 되었다. 이런 맥락에서 포스트휴머니즘은 주체에 대한 입장을 어떻게 제시하고 있는지 주목된다. 이 점에서 포스트휴먼 담론의 주체 개념이 휴머니즘과 어떤 차이점이 있는지 검토하는 작업이 필수적으로 요청된다. 이를 위해 본론에서는 포스트휴먼이 형성되는 이론들을 그 발생적, 구조적, 인식론적 차원에서 유형 분류를 시도해서 4가지 유형으로 분류하고 이 주체 유형들이 미학 이론 내부에서는 어떤 쟁점과 부딪치는지 살피고자 했다. 이를 위한 선행 작업으로 바움가움텐의 주체 개념과 헤르더의 주체 개념이 서로 다르게 전개된 과정을 검토했다. 그 결과 전자는 미학적 경험의 주체, 후자는 미학적 힘의 주체로서 각기 서로 다른 인간상을 제시함을 알 수 있었다. 이 가운데 후자는 대상으로부터 느낌(感)을 포착하는 감각작용을 긍정하면서 감각 경험을 통해 근원적인 자연과 접촉하는 미학적 반성으로 나아가는 잠재성을 제시한 점에서 이성 중심의 인간을 극복하는 새로운 대안으로 재인식할 수 있다고 보았다. 이런 맥락에서 포스트휴먼의 유형 가운데 하나인 로봇이나 인공지능은 미학적 주체, 미적 경험, 미의식에 적용해 볼 때 미학의 수행 주체로서 성립 불가능하다는 결론에 도달했다. 요컨대 이 글은 새로운 인간상으로서 미학적 주체 개념을 재인식하면서 신체의 감각을 통해 느낌을 경험하는 주관적 감정이 없는 로봇이나 인공지능에서는 미적 경험이나 사유 자체가 불가능하다는 결론에 도달했다.
