중학생들의 북부지방에 대한 이해 특성과 지역 이미지 = Middle School Students` Understanding Traits and Regional Images on the Northern Provinces of Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the geography education, students` regional images and identity are as important as understanding and learning traits on the northern provinces of Korea (northern provinces). In this perspective, this paper aims to study the middle school students` understanding traits and regional images on the northern provinces. Major conclusions are suggested below as follows. First, for the learning contents degree of difficulty, there are showed `normal` more than `easy` and `difficult`. The categories of the students` understanding of the learning contents are classified into 5 categories(cognitive categories : contents, comparison of contents, meta-cognitive categories: preceding learning, preference to subject, interest or attitude to subject). It was found that meta-cognitive categories has effected on `easy` and `difficult`, cognitive categories has effected on `normal` more than meta-cognitive. Second, the most students` images on the northern provinces are showed quite negative. It was found that contents of the politics·economics system has affected relatively students` negative images and contents of industrials and physical environment have affected students` positive images. Finally, the most students` identity was represented `North Korea`. In the case of positive images, students` regional identity was represented `northern province`, in the case of negative images, students` regional identity was represented `North Korea`.
