      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the interrelationship among the carotid artery intima-media thickness(CIMT), blood pressure and cardiorespiratory fitness(CF) in young adult women. A total of 268(mean age 24.1years) healthy young adults women participated in this cross-sectional study. Body composition, systolic blood pressure(SBP) and diastolic blood pressure(DBP), maximum oxygen uptake, serum lipid and CIMT were measured. Partial correlation analyses assessed independent associations among the CIMT, BP and CF. Analyses of covariance(ANCOVA) assessed independent associations among the CIMT, three groups of BP and three groups of CF after controlling for age, body mass index and cholesterol. Correlation showed that CIMT had a higher correlation(p<.001) with the SBP(r=0.591), DBP(r=0.565) and maximum oxygen uptake(r=-0.447). ANCOVA analyses showed that in all groups by blood pressure, participants with CIMT was significantly think in individual low oxygen uptake group). This study demonstrates that in ividuals who have both pre-Hypertension and low oxygen uptake more likely to have the risk of CAD due to the increased CIMT in young adult women.
