다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

The modern society we live in is characterized by diverse cultural identities, a generational gap in perception due to a rapidly changing technological environment, and a diversification of values that respect individual lifestyles. They form a complex structure that closely influences each other. The convergence of these diverse elements becomes the driving force behind the growth of society. However, the competitive social structure and individualized lifestyle often lead to a sense of disconnection or isolation from others, which is a contradiction. Accordingly, this study aims to realize a system in which humans, as interdependent beings, respect each other's differences and live together in harmony. This originates from the formative characteristics of patchwork, applique, and quilting techniques, where pieces of different colors, patterns, and textures come together to create a harmonious whole.
This study reinterprets three techniques that have traditionally developed in the field of textile crafts into the field of metal crafts. The purpose is to expand the realm of expression in metal crafts and to evoke the values of coexistence and harmony in modern society. In particular, by combining traditional techniques such as cloisonne and Ottchil, it overcomes the inherent limitations of metal's color and presents new possibilities.

The study method proceeds in three stages. First, through a survey of needle art books, I establish a theoretical foundation for the definition, history, characteristics, and types of patchwork, applique, and quilting, and classify them. Second, I analyze the use of the three techniques in various fields such as crafts, fashion, and jewelry to explore their potential application to metal crafts. Third, based on this, the formative characteristics of patchwork are realized by combining various textures and colors of metal in the production of works such as brooches, necklaces, and objects. Specifically, the feel of the fabric's stitching is expressed by utilizing various lines according to the degree of twisting of silver and copper wires used in cloisonne. For color diversity and aesthetics, Ottchil techniques using materials such as silver foil, lacquer powder, mother-of-pearl, and eggshell are combined with cloisonne.

The results of this study are as follows. First, the texture of the delicate stitching lines of the fabric was successfully expressed through the cloisonne technique using twisted lines. The effect of expanding the expressive scope of existing cloisonne was achieved. Second, a dynamic visual effect was created by overlapping and combining regular basic patterns in Ottchil works to create new patterns. Third, by overcoming the color limitations of metal through traditional techniques such as cloisonne and Ottchil, color diversity and aesthetics could be improved.
In conclusion, this study confirmed that the formative characteristics of patchwork, applique, and quilting have value in expanding the expression of modern metal crafts beyond simple textile techniques. It presents the possibility of a new formative interpretation that realizes the aesthetics of coexistence and harmony within material limitations.
