This study intend to consider a matter by and large of Hong Daeyong`s discussion on the learning and friendly intercourse. Hong Daeyong stated his views in discussion on the learning. Firstly, the learning is classified into three categories. It is study of righteousness(moral philosophy) and study of the high-level state examination to recruit ranking officials(gwageo) and study of a fine composition(creative writing). He maintained that all the study is in perfect harmony. Above all, he is taking a serious view of righteousness. Hong Daeyong is classified into three categories in study. It is the teaching of ancient saint, practical science, a reasonable right science. He assumed a critical attitude toward serious academic ills. He referred to the matter of academic right path and achievements. He suggested an infallible method and a sincere attitude in study. He made a reference an essential condition for reach ultimate purpose in study. It is sincere, faithfulness, consideration, discretion that is for reach ultimate purpose in study. Hong Daeyong stated his views in discussion on the friendly intercourse. Firstly, he made reference to meaning of friends. It is promotion of virtue and benevolence for the good of others, be of one mind and like morally or religiously. He divided things into three classes to the friendly intercourse, that is form a friendship with natural mind, moral sense, seeing each other. He seek spiritual relationship. He regarded morality to be the most important when He make a person´s acquaintance. He divided things into three classes to the classical scholar, as classical scholar of Confucian classics and classical scholar of good style sentence and classical scholar of wit or proficient examination to recruit ranking officials. Finally, he asserted true classical scholar and genuine friend, that live within one`s means and according to circumstances.
