정보화근로사업의 고용효과 분석 = Articles of General Interest : An Empirical Analysis of Employment Effect on the Information Technology New Deal

After the financial crisis in the winter of 1997, the unemployment policy was introduced as measure solving crucial unemployment problems in Korea. Especially, IT(information Technology) New Deal was initiated to solve youth`s unemployment problem through investment in information technology. The program focuses particularly on the database(DB) infrastructure which has relatively large employment effect. The program has two goals: absorbing unemployment and information of public agencies. The purpose of this paper is to investigate participant`s recognition and evaluation on the IT New Deal. For this purpose, this study surveys a random sample of participants of four projects among the New Deal in first half of 2001. In terms of results on research, the goal of IT New Deal, that is absorbing unemployment, is accomplished to the considerable degree. But, there are many problems in contexts to solve on the youth`s unemployment. Therefore, many policies to response to youth`s employment can be diversely discussed and reviewed.
