동양적 비상의 상상력 변용 양상 소설 󰡔봉신연의󰡕와 만화 <봉신연의>를 중심으로 = The Transformation of the Imagination of Oriental Flight Focusing on the Novel Bongsinyeonui and the Cartoon <Bongsinyeonui>

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Flying has produced many images and contents, stimulating human imagination.
Focusing on Bachelard's discussion of the imagination of the emergency, this paper aims to summarize the imagination of the East by comparing the representative Chinese New Horse novel Bongsinyeonui and the cartoon <Bongsinyeonui> based on it. There are various editions of Bongsinyeonui, and I think it will be able to show the transformation of the imagination of oriental flight well as it has been produced as a cartoon in modern times.
To prove that Bongsinyeonui is one of the fantasy literature based on imagination, Todorov's discussion of fantasy was applied. By reviewing Todorov's discussion and counterargument on the fantasy, Iliad and Bongsinyeonui also proved to be fantasy literature because the supernatural event of the war of gods or ancestors appears in realistic history.
The characters that reveal the imagination of emergency in Bongsinyeonui include Nata and Noijinja. This paper followed the changes of these two characters from the original to the cartoon <Bongsinyeonui> and examined the transformation of the imagination of the emergency.
Nata was originally a Buddhist guardian deity, but in the novel, he becomes a prostitute who shows the image of Android in the cartoon through the incarnation of Lotus.
The imagination of Nata’s flight lies in the wheels on his feet. The wheel changes from the shape of the wheel to the shape of a round mechanical device through the ‘mechanization’ process of the nata.
The location of the Noijinja's flying imagination is in the wings. This paper found the original form of this character in the story of winged people who are people of Hwanduguk in Sanhaegyeong. It was believed that the mythical existence of a winged person flying in the water became a motif, and the Noijinja of Bongsinyeonui appeared. In Bongsinyeonui, a Noijinja is described as a monster with wings or an eagle human, but in the cartoon, it appears as a modified form of a bat human. This paper defined the process of this transformation as ‘animalization’.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

비상(飛翔)은 인간의 상상력을 자극하며 많은 도상과 콘텐츠를 생산해 왔다. 본고는 바슐라르의 비상의 상상력 논의를 중심으로 하여 중국의 대표적인 신마소설인 󰡔봉신연의󰡕와 이를 바탕으로 만들어진 만화<봉신연의>를 비교하여 동양적 비상의 상상력을 정리해 보고자 한다. 󰡔봉신연의󰡕는 다양한 판본이 있으며 현대에 와서 만화로 제작되면서 동양적 비상의 상상력이 변용하는 과정을 잘 보여 줄 수 있으리라 생각한다.
󰡔봉신연의󰡕가 상상력을 기반으로 한 환상문학 중 하나임을 증명하기 위해 츠베탕 토도로프의 환상성 논의를 적용했다. 츠베탕 토도로프의 환상성에 대한 논의와 그에 대한 반론을 검토하여 󰡔일리아드󰡕나 󰡔봉신연의󰡕 역시사실성을 가진 역사(기표)에 신들 혹은 선인들의 전쟁이라는 초자연적인 사건(기의)가 미끄러지면서 생겨나는 간격(환상성)이 나타나기 때문에 환상문학임을 증명하였다.
󰡔봉신연의󰡕 속 비상의 상상력이 드러나는 캐릭터로는 ‘나타’와 ‘뇌진자’가 있다. 본고는 이 두 캐릭터의 원전부터만화 <봉신연의>까지 변화해 가는 모습을 따라가며 비상의 상상력이 변용 양상을 살펴보았다.
나타는 본래 불교의 호법신이었는데 소설 속에서는 연화의 화신을 거쳐서 만화 속에서는 안드로이드의 이미지를 보여 주는 보패인간이 된다. 나타가 가지고 있는 비상의 상상력은 발에 있는 바퀴에 있다. 이 바퀴는 나타의‘기계화’ 과정을 통해 바퀴의 형태에서 둥근 기계장치의 형태로 변화한다.
뇌진자의 비상의 상상력 위치는 날개에 있다. 본고는 이 캐릭터의 원형을 󰡔산해경󰡕의 환두국 사람이라는 날개달린 사람들의 이야기에서 찾았다. 물속을 비행하는 날개 달린 사람이라는 신화 속 존재가 모티프가 되어 󰡔봉신연의󰡕의 뇌진자가 나타났다고 보았다.󰡔봉신연의󰡕에서 뇌진자는 날개 달린 괴물의 모습 혹은 독수리 인간 등으로 묘사되는데 만화에서는 박쥐 인간의 형태로 변형되어 나타난다. 본고는 이러한 변형의 과정을 ‘동물화’라고정의하였다.
