뇌과학에 기반한 소통지능 지수 개발 및 소통지능 향상을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발

국문 초록 (Abstract)

소통능력은 인간의 기본적 욕구 충족은 물론 사회심리적 건강과 발전을 위해 갖추어야 할 필수적인 능력이다. 우리는 주변의 사람들을 포함하여 자신을 둘러싼 환경과의 커뮤니케이션을 통해 자아를 형성하고 발전시키는 것은 물론, 다양한 종류의 대인관계를 형성하고 발전시키면서 자신의 심리적, 사회적 위치를 공고히 한다. 이렇게 소통은 우리의 삶에 필수적인 요소로서, 그 중요성은 누구나 인정하지만 소통을 잘 하기 위해서는 어떻게 해야 하는지에 대해서는 학문적으로 통합되어 제시된 바가 없다. 본 연구에서는 개인의 소통능력은 소통지능이라는 관찰 가능하고 측정 가능한 심리적 구성체에 의존한다고 보고, 소통지능의 실체와 그 구성요소를 규명하고, 엄밀한 타당화 검증 작업을 거쳐 과학적인 소통지능 측정도구를 개발하는 동시에 소통 지능을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육 및 훈련 프로그램을 개발하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 이를 위해서 최첨단 뇌 영상분석기법을 사용하여 소통지능의 다양한 구성 요소의 존재를 파악하고, 신경과학적 타당화 작업을 거치면서 측정 문항을 개발하였다. 이렇게 개발된 측정 도구를 이용하여 청소년과 성인을 대상으로 여러 차례 반복적으로 자료가 수집되었고, 고급 사회통계기법을 사용하여 엄밀한 신뢰도 및 타당도 검증을 실시하였다. 또한 본 연구는 이러한 다양한 실험 및 조사 결과를 바탕으로 소통능력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 교육 및 훈련 프로그램을 개발하고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 본 연구팀은 심리학, 커뮤니케이션학, 교육학, 뇌과학, 사회신경과학 등 방대한 범위의 문헌 연구와 소통지능 문항 개발, fMRI를 이용한 타당화 작업, 매체 효능감, 내재 동기 등에 관한 연구를 실시하였다. 이와 더불어 국내외 학회 참가를 통해 최신의 다양한 연구 방법과 결과를 습득하고 이를 본 연구팀의 연구에 접목하였다. 3차 년도에는 다양한 방식으로 개발된 소통지능 문항과 훈련 프로그램을 모바일 애플리케이션의 형태로 개발하였다.

We satisfy our various needs through communication. Communication competence is thus necessary for us to manage our personal and social life. Communication scholars agree the importance of communication competence, but they have provided different concepts and theories about communication competence. In this study, we argued that an individual’ communication competence depends on his or her communicative intelligence which is a measurable psychological construct. Thus, the aims of this study were to establish the concept of communicative intelligence, construct the instrument of communicative intelligence, and develop an educational or training program for the development of communication competence. To achieve these aims, we tried to identify sub-components of communicative intelligence via the most-advanced fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) techniques and generate the instrument items based on such neuroscientific evidence. The instrument was applied to various samples including teenagers, college students, and adults, and these survey data were analyzed through rigorous statistical procedures to determine the reliabilities and validities of the instrument and its sub-components.
