This study aimed to examine the effect of H.A.T. program on the prevention of school violence. 52 students in grades 1 and 2 from S Girl`s High School in Seoul participated in this study. The participation group of 13 and the control group of 13 in grade 1 and grade 2 respectively were selected. H.A.T. program was taken for 8 sessions with once per week and 50 minutes per session. To verify the effect of the program, the qualitative survey was applied, and the program activity review and contents analysis were made by a qualitative analysis method. The results of this study by such methodology and procedure are as below. Firstly, the participation of H.A.T. program had a positive effect on the reduction of aggression of the youth. The participation group had a statistically significant effect on the body aggression, anger and hostility as sub-factors of aggression. To the contrary, there was no significant change to the control group. Secondly, the participation of H.A.T. program had a positive effect on the reduction of anger of the youth. The participation group had a statistically significant effect on the anger expression, anger repression and anger control as sub-factors of aggression. To the contrary, there was no significant change to the control group. Thirdly, the participation of H.A.T. program made a positive effect on the self-esteem but there was no significant change on the non-participation group. Fourthly, the participation of H.A.T. program made a positive effect on the awareness of school violence but there was no significant change on the non-participation group. In conclusion, H.A.T. program was effective in preventing school violence as it reduced aggression and anger expression, improved self-esteem and provided positive experiences on the awareness of school violence.
