Development of science and technology has been made human life more affluent and convenient. But comparatively poor cultivation of human rights consciousness has been threatened human life at the same time. And nowadays, bully or Wang-dda, violence, egoism, mutual indifference, etc became routinely observed behaviors in Korea and Japanꡑs kindergarten and schools. Therefore, They became prevailing problems in pre, primary, middle, and high school in two nations. In this point, It is required human rights education to bring the change of consciousness of human rights, the recognition of the importance of human rights. This study aimed at contribute to at figuring out two nationsꡑsimilarities and differences of childhood human rights education through comparative analysis on human rights education contents reflected in korea and japanꡑkindergarten national curriculum.
Korea and Japan have not only a many points of similarities but also differences in educational system and structure in kindergarten from historical and sociocultural correlation between two nations. Two nations have national curriculum. Recently, the new kindergarten national curricula were revised on June 1998 in Korea, and on December 1998 in Japan. In order to explore human rights education in kindergarten, the author tried to analyze those national curricula. The tool of analysis was constructed in basic, political, social, economic rights, rights to freedom, rights of equality. Consequently, It was found that they were not well organized in a system.
