The reference we proposed to use in this paper for the theoretical discussion is Reading for the plot by Peter Brooks, coming up with a narratological model based on Freudian psychoanalysis. This model is divided into two parts: one is devoted to modeling the flow of the libidinal energy and the other, to modeling the transition. The parallax realism we proposed as an aesthetic principle of writer Park Hae-young is related to a plot device operating the charge and recharge of the narrative desire in a fictive space inscribed in a fiction. The fictive space inscribed in My Liberation Notes is towfold: Liberation Club and Sanpo City. The former asks for the meaning of the liberation and the latter aims at constructing a context where that meaning is questioned. The modality of liberation of My Liberation Notes presents is threefold: ontological, aesthetic and ethical. What we propose in this paper can be summed up as follows: those three liberation modalities are to be an effect of the transition occurring in the process of reading.
