유기농민의 일상생활과 대안문화 : 정농회를 중심으로 = The Everyday life and Alternative Culture of Right Farming Association(RFA) Households

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문에서는 정농회 소속 농민을 대상으로 심층면접 및 설문조사를 통하여 유기농민의 삶, 특히 그들의 일상생활과 대안문화적 특성들을 고찰하였다. 정농회는 우리나라에서 가장 정통적인 유기농업 단체로 대안농업 패러다임에 잘 부합되며, 규모에 비해 유기농업운동에서 차지하는 위상이 높다. 연구결과, 여성의 노동참여가 많으며, 성별노동경계가 약화되고, 농사일 만족도 및 생활 만족도는 높았다. 상당수의 회원들은 일상생활에서 생태주의 및 비-물질주의를 추구하는 등 지속가능성을 수용하며, 자연과 생태, 대안문화 등에 관심이 높았다. 하지만 경제적 어려움과 농촌생활의 사회·문화적 제약 등으로 인하여 삶의 질을 보통 수준으로 평가하였다. 결과적으로 이런 요인들이 농가 재생산의 부적 요인으로 파악되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study explores the farmers' lives, especially their daily lives and their alternative cultural characteristics by intensive interviews to member of RFA. RFA is the most orthodox organic farming organization in Korea. Compared to the other organizations, it is most suitable for the paradigm of alternative farming, and thus its status is well appreciated in spite of rather small size. As a result of the research, the areas of weakened gender gap in work and the satisfaction in working and rural life were evaluated as high while the area of the quality of living in countries was evaluated as average. In addition, quite a few members in RFA have high interests in pursuing non-materialism in everyday life, accepting sustainability, alternative education for children, ecological environment and using alternative energy. It appears that economic difficulties in organic farming, the cultural and social constraints of rural life, which are closely related to children education, have had a negative impact on reproducing farms. Therefore, this study points out that social supports to reproduce farms and plans to activate direct business are needed.
