Renal diseases have been recognized as major health issues. In this study, three-dimensional porous poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) scaffold incorporated with magnesium hydroxide were developed and then grafted with fibroblast-derived extracellular matrix (FDM) for further improved biocompatibility. PLGA scaffold with FDM layer demonstrated significantly increased adhesion and viability of urine derived nephron progenitor cells. These results suggest that introduction of FDM layer would be effective for renal tissue regeneration.
