부식 페인트로 도장된 플라스틱 조각품의 보존처리: 색맞춤 프로파일링 = Conservation Treatment of Metallic Painted Plastic Sculpture: Color Matching Profiling

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현대 미술품의 보존처리에서 색맞춤 과정은 제작 의도를 반영하여 진행되기도 한다.
특히 작가가 생존해 있는 작품의 경우 재도장 등 비가역적인 작업을 진행할 때 동일성유지권을고려하여 작가의 정보와 의도한 외관을 참고함에 따라 원본성과 진정성을 확보하게 된다. 최정화 작가의 ‘내일의 꽃’은 표면에 페인트가 도장된 작품으로 조형물 일부가 탈락하고 곳곳이갈라져 내부 바탕층이 드러나 보존처리를 진행하였다. 작가와의 인터뷰를 통해 작품에 사용된도장이 부식 페인트라는 것을 확인하고 부식액 적용 시간에 따른 색상변화와 색도를 측정하여작품에 알맞은 색맞춤 방법을 정량화하였다. 해당 결과를 바탕으로 보존처리를 안정적으로 진행하여 작품의 외형을 복원하였다. 이러한 과정을 일종의 매뉴얼로 작성하여 향후 관련 작품들의 색맞춤 보존처리에 활용하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In the conservation treatment of modern and contemporary art, the color matching processis sometimes carried out by reflecting the artist information. In particular, in the case of artworksin which the artist survives, originality and authenticity are secured by referring to the artist informationand intended appearance in consideration of the rights of integrity when processing irreversible worksuch as repainting. ‘Flowers of tomorrow’ by artist Jeong Hwa Choi is a sculpture with paint on thesurface, and some of the structures were eliminated and cracked to reveal the inner base layer, soconservation treatment was carried out. Through the artist interview, it was confirmed that the paintused in the artwork was metallic corrosion paint, and the color change and chromaticity were measuredaccording to the application time of the rust activator to quantify the appropriate color matching methodfor the artwork. Based on the results, conservation treatment was carried out stably and the appearanceof the artwork was restored. This process will be recorded as a manual and used for color matchingin conservation treatment of related artworks in the future.
