When Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Central Asian and ASEAN countries in 2013, he raised the initiative of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road (hereinafter referred to as the Belt and Road initiative), which have attracted close attention from all over the world. The initiative focuses on strengthening cooperation with policy coordination, facilities connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and people-to-people bonds as major goals. It has been 25 years since China and South Korea established diplomatic relations. Despite differences in certain political perspectives, and South Korea have become strategic partners, in economic and trade areas. China’s Belt and Road initiative is closely related to South Korea’s economic interests. Under this framework, two countries will enjoy broader cooperation space in economic and trade areas and also with other countries in Asia and Europe.
With the development of the Belt and Road initiative, the educational direction of how to teach Korean is becoming clearer. It has been our highest priority to cultivate compound talents who command a foreign language and also have professional skills. The article will give a summary of previous researches at first, out some issues in China’s business Korean teaching, then take the example of China-South Korea Trade Practice teaching in SYSU. I hope this article will provide references for Korean teaching community in China.
