경기양주 테크노밸리 제조 융복합 활성화 방안

This study aims to prepare policy measures for promoting the Yangju Techno Valley, which is being developed in northern Gyeonggi-Do. The main conclusions are as follows.

1. It is necessary to preemptively establish an industrial Infrastructures for the northern Gyeonggi Techno Valley such as Yangju Techno Valley. Northern Gyeonggi Techno Valley is the product of a policy agreement that is a project to be promoted to revitalize the underdeveloped regional economy in northern Gyeonggi-Do. Preemptive investment in infrastructure will serve as a pick-up point for corporate attraction.

2. Yangju Techno Valley needs to establish its status as a base for the advancement of consumer goods, such as textiles and furniture, which are specialized industries in northern Gyeonggi-Do. As a result of analyzing the location conditions of Yangju Techno Valley, the possibility of developing higher-order service industries such as the information service industry is low in the short term, and it is necessary to create an innovative SME cluster related to consumer goods. Yangju Techno Valley has favorable conditions for manufacturing convergence innovation, as it has good geographical accessibility to major manufacturing agglomerations in the northern Gyeonggi-Do.

3. As the core foundation for promoting of Yangju Techno Valley, it is necessary to establish the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center and Professional Manpower Training. Professional manpower produced through the training program will create new growth engines by working or starting a business in Yangju Techno Valley.

4. It is necessary to designate Yangju Techno Valley as a ‘innovation cluster’ of Gyeonggi-Do and prepare systematic support plans. Gyeonggi-Do has already enacted the 〈Gyeonggi-do Innovation Cluster Fostering and Support Ordinance〉 in 2015, but it has not established related plans and implemented projects. It is necessary to secure legal and institutional basis for policy support for the northern Gyeonggi Techno Valley (Goyang, Yangju, etc.).
