      A simulation analysis method is presented in the paper to study the quality inspection system(QIS) in CIM environment. Firstly, this method analyzes the various factors of the QIS to find the QIS elements corresponding to entitics of GPSS, and then, builds the GPSS model which consists of four main submodels called inspection job creating, inspection job scheduling, inspection job processing and machine malfunctioning. After getting the program description, an example is given and ran on PC 586 pentium. The results show this method is flexible and can be used to analyze various inspection rules of FMS.
