This paper is a case study of a child(A) with lack of literacy who had participated in the program for children at welfare centers in seoul who have difficulties in literacy with literary therapeutic method. In this paper, narrative power can be divided into three parts, which are ability to understand narrative texts, ability to compose imaginative narrative, and ability to express narrative texts. And this paper is to reveal that narrative power can be found in A even though A has difficulties in literacy, also to study the effects of literary therapeutic program. In chapter 2, A`s creative works were analyzed. If only focusing on A`s expression, A`s narrative power can be considered as low level, but when focusing on A`s epic of self, something organized in A`s mind, A`s ability to understand and compose narrative texts is better than other children who participated in the same program. In chapter 3, it is found that even though A`s ability to understand and compose narrative texts is outstanding, A`s ability to express narrative texts is poor. Considering discussed matters, in chapter 4, the effects of literary therapeutic program are examined. The literary therapeutic program can be effective for children who have difficulties in literacy, it helped children to improve their narrative power and literacy. In the future, based on this study, the literary therapeutic program for children with lack of literacy can be used in many places.
