재미 한인 시문학 연구-광복 이후 재미 한인 시문학의 특성과 변화 양상을 중심으로 = The Study on Korean-American Poetry in the post-1980`s

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This treatise investigated literary characteristics and encapsulated methods of the process of Korean`s emigration and domiciliation on the Korean- American Poetry in the 1980`s and after. Korean-American Literature make a features of non-past-oriented attitudes and faint link with the Japanese colonial period, because large majority is 1 generation as emigration. These features originates from voluntary emigration not wandering back and forth, and occur to the large scaled emigration from Korea to USA after 1970`s. Also, it is a distinctive feature than the other Korean literatures that have an creative activities during keep close relationship with domestic`s Korean-American Poetry is classified into four property: ① expression nostalgia to homeland and hometown ② display of difficult to emigrate and foreigner`s awareness ③ distress at immigrated society and ethnic identity ④ becoming host and living as a host. In the first days of Korea-American poetry, it just tell sorrow of new immigrants and homesickness to left homeland. But gradually, the subjects are spreading to social, political issues and their life. However, though this differences and changes, still the core subject is `To pursue Identity as an Korean`. In short words, the important topic is `To pursue identity as an Korean` with tension and conflicts they shows during solve the problems. But yet it has a high dependence on their homeland and does not shows a unique features compared with Korean Literature. Though it results from economic hardships and few readers. But I am expecting to improve their own characteristics and write concrete experiences as generation gap, and problems of married couples or children.
