주요 국가의 주제명표목표에 나타난 한국의 국경관련 주제명 비교 분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

주요 국가의 주제명표목표 즉, 전거레코드 파일에 수록되어 있는 한국의 국경 관련 주제명의 실태 및 특성을 비교 분석였다. 여기서 분석 대상 국가는 우리나라와 국경을 접하고 있는 나라를 포함하여 세계 주요 언어권의 대표적인 국가일 뿐만 아니라 국제 정치적인 측면에서 한국과 밀접한 관련이 있는 7개국(미국, 프랑스, 독일, 스페인, 중국, 러시아, 일본)으로 하였으며, 한국의 국경 관련 주제명은 독도(獨島), 동해(東海), 황해(黃海), 대한해협(大韓海峽), 압록강(鴨綠江), 두만강(豆滿江), 백두산(白頭山)으로 한정하였다. 주제명은 해당 국가도서관의 전거레코드를 통해 분석하였으며, 결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. 첫째, 한국의 국경 관련 목록레코드가 미국, 중국, 일본 등 일부 국가를 제외하고는 레코드 수가 한 자리 숫자에 불과하였으며, 프랑스의 경우 ‘압록강’, ‘두만강’, ‘백두산’, 독일의 경우 ‘대한해협’, 스페인의 경우 ‘황해’, ‘대한해협’, ‘두만강’, ‘백두산’, 러시아의 경우 ‘대한해협’에 관한 레코드가 전혀 검색되지 않았다. 목록레코드가 검색되지 않음은 관련 자료가 조직되어 있지 않다는 것을 의미한다.
둘째, 국경 관련 주제명은 지리한정어를 어떻게 나타내고 있느냐가 중요하다. 그런데 우리가 실효적 지배를 하고 있는 ‘독도’에 대해서도 미국과 프랑스를 제외하고는 한국이라는 지명이 나타나 있지 않았다. 독일과 스페인은 한국과 일본이라는 지명을 함께 표시하고 있다.
셋째, ‘동해’ 관련 주제명에 대해서는 이미 대부분의 국가도서관 목록에서 ‘일본해’라고 표기하고 있으며, ‘황해’ 관련 주제명에 대해서는 ‘황해’라고 표기하고 있다.
넷째, ‘압록강’과 ‘두만강’의 경우 대부분의 경우 중국식 발음으로 표기하고 있다.
다섯째, ‘백두산’의 경우 대부분 한국식 발음으로 표기하고 있으며, 미국의 경우 ‘장백산’과 구분하고 있다. 독일의 경우 ‘장백산’을 ‘백두산’의 이형 접근점으로 표기하고 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research was conducted to analyze the actual condition of subject heading related to Korean border shown in the subject headings of 7 countries: United States, France, Germany, Spain, Russia, China, and Japan. The results are as follows.
To begin with, Korean border-related records in most other national libraries are in extremely poor conditions except for some countries like United States. Amnokgang, Dumangang, and Baekdusan-related records did not search at all in the France. Korea Strait-related records did not search at all in the German and Russia. Yellow Sea, Korea Strait, Dumangang, and Baekdusan-related-related records did not search at all in the Spain.
Second, it is very important for border-related subject heading how to represent the geographic qualifiers. But even Dokdo we have effective control, the geographical name ‘Korea’ is not marked with catalog records except the United States and France. The Germany and Spain are displayed with the geographical name of ‘Korea’ and ‘Japan’.
Third, the East Sea(Donghae) already is marked with ‘Sea of ​​Japan’ in most of the national library catalogs, and Yellow Sea(Huanghai) is marked with ‘Yellow Sea’.
Fourth, Amnokgang and Dumangang is marked with Chinese pronunciation in most in most of the national library.
