스마트 기타 Lava Genie를 활용한 음악 수업 적용 가능성 탐색 = A Study on the Application of the Lava Genie Smart Guitar in Music Activities

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 스마트 기타 Lava Genie를 학교 음악 수업 매체로 선정하여 검토하고 그 적용 가능성을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 먼저 음악교육용 디지털 매체를 문헌 조사로 분류·분석하고, 학생 흥미 유발성과 음악 능력 전이성을 고려해 Lava Genie를 매체로 선정하였다. 전문가 검토와 실습을 통해 주요 기능과 연주법을 분석하고, 가창 반주와 즉흥연주, 1인 밴드 활동을 중심으로 수업 시나리오를 설계하였다. 연구 결과, Lava Genie는 별도의 선행 이론이나 고도의 연주 기술 없이도 직관적이고 즉각적인 음악 표현이 가능했으며, 다양한 연주 형태와 음악 활동에 유용한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 학생들에게 보다 자유로운 음악 표현의 기회를 제공하여 자기주도적으로 창의성을 발휘할 수 있는 즉흥연주 활동으로의 접근성을 높이고, 가상악기와 달리 실질적인 음악 몰입 경험을 가능하게 하는 실물 악기의 현장감을 제공한다. 이러한 특성은 AI 기반 창작 활동과 가상악기 중심 기악 수업의 보완재로써 디지털 실물 매체의 수업 도구 다양화와 학생 주도형 학습 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

This study investigates the pedagogical potential of the Lava Genie smart guitar as an instructional medium in secondary‐school music classes. A literature review first classified and analysed existing digital resources for music education; on the basis of their capacity to stimulate student interest and facilitate musical skill transfer, the Lava Genie was selected for exploration. Through expert consultation and hands-on trials, the instrument’s core features and performance techniques were documented, and lesson scenarios were designed around singing accompaniment, improvisation, and one-person band activities. The findings indicate that the Lava Genie enables intuitive, immediate musical expression without prerequisite theoretical knowledge or advanced technical ability, while its physical presence affords the sense of authenticity that enhances learner immersion and expressive freedom. These properties position the instrument as a viable complement to AI-powered or fully virtual environments, broadening the palette of classroom tools and supporting student-centered, exploratory learning.
