연대의 개념과 사상

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article introduces complex and multi-dimensional concepts of ‘solidarity’ and elucidates the histories of the idea of ‘solidarity’ in Western and Korean society. The modern idea of solidarity which succeeded the idea of fraternity, was developed by socialists and sociologists in the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Catholic church also paid special attention to the idea of solidarity and developed its religious and ethical tradition. In Korea, the spirit of solidarity was formed during modernization, but was suppressed by the Japanese colonial government and Korean authoritarian regimes. In this turbulent period of Korea’s history, ideas of solidarity were introduced, spread, and developed through social science, social movements, and religion.
