Living Modified Organism(LMO)/ Genetically Modified Organisrrn(GMO) products based on biotechnology were grown 1,170 million hectares - 100 times more than in 1996 - in 28 countries in 2013. However, the LMO/GMO usage has various arguments about safety and usability. Therefore, the establishment of national policies regarding the usage of agriculture biotechnology for food products are one of the most significant issues. The purpose of this study is to investigate the international regulations and domestic policies of the three countries(Korea, U.S, and EU) regarding LMO/GMO. Moreover, we analyze and compare three countries policies and finally give preliminary suggestions for upgrading Korea policy of LMO/GMO.
