비공식 사회관계와 자살행동 가능성: 노인의 자녀관계와 친구·이웃관계를 중심으로 = Informal Social Relationship and Suicidality: Difference between the Children and the Friend Relationship in Korean Elderly

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study was to explore the relationship between informal social relationship and suicidality. The number of the sample was 1,934 elderly living in Chuncheon city. The dependent variable of the study, suicidality was measured with revised suicidal behaviors questionnaire consisting of 4 items. The independent variable, the informal social relationships consisted of relationship with the children and with the friends. The data was analyzed with multiple regression method. The results of the study were as follows. First, depression and level of pain showed positive relationship with suicidality. Second, the level of support exchange with children also showed negative relationship with suicidality. Third, however the relationships with friends showed no significant relationship with suicidality.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 비공식적 사회관계의 구성 요소 중 자살행동 가능성에 영향을 주는 요소는 무엇인지 구체적으로 밝혀보는 것이 목적이다. 본 연구의 자료는 2014년 생사학연구소에서 실시한 춘천노인생활실태조사로 춘천 지역 노인 2000명을 대상으로 인구․사회적 요인, 심리적 요인, 그리고 자살행동 가능성(suicidality) 등을 조사하였으며 분석에 포함된 사례는 1,934명이다. 본 연구는 노인의 비공식적 사회관계를 자녀관계와 친구․이웃관계로 구분한 후 각각에 대해 접촉 수준과 지원교환 수준을 측정하여 분석에 포함하였다. 본 연구는 자살행동 가능성과 비공식적 사회관계의 관련성을 다변수 회귀분석방법을 활용해 분석하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우울이나 통증 수준 등 건강관련 요인들은 자살행동 가능성과 유의미한 관계를 보이고 있다. 둘째, 비공식적 사회관계 중 자녀와의 지원교환이 자살행동 가능성을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 친구 관계의 경우는 접촉수준이나 지원교환수준 모두 유의미한 관계를 보이지 않는다.
