가구적 관점에서 본 한국의 노동시간 = 1999/2004년 생활시간조사 자료에 대한 분석을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은, 한국의 가구적 수준에서의 노동시간의 변화를 살펴보기 위해 통계청의 1999/2004년도 생활시간조사 자료를 사용해, 부부의 노동시간을 합한 공동 노동시간에 대한 시계열 분석을 수행했다. 이는 한국의 가구 형태 간 분포의 변화에 의한 노동시간에의 영향과, 그로 인해 부부가 느끼게 되는 시간압박의 변화를 구체적으로 확인하는 것을 가능하게 한다. 자기기입식 질문법에 의한 주당 노동시간과 시간 일기법에 의한 일일 노동시간율 모두 포함하고 있는 자료를 사용해서 주당/일일 노동시간의 변화를 모두 분석할 수 있었다. 부부의, 특히 맞벌이 부부의 공동 노동시간의 변화를 그 평균적 길이와 분포를 통해 살펴본 결과, 맞벌이 부부가 다른 가구 형태에 비해 단지 평일만이 아니라 한 주 전체에 걸쳐서 노동시간에 의한 다른 생활시간에의 시간제약을 경험하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 학력이 낮은 맞벌이 부부일수록 장시간의 공동 노동시간으로 인해 일과 가정의 균형을 유지하는 데 있어서 보다 더 어려움을 경험하고 있었다. 그리고 맞벌이 부부의 미취학 자녀의 존재에 의한 노동시간의 감소는 그 정도가 2004년으로 오면서 줄어들고 있으며, 이는 주로 같은 기간에 걸쳐 나타나는 미취학 자녀에 의한 부인의 노동시간의 감소 폭이 줄어든 것에서 그 원인을 찾을 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examined on the changes of work time at the household level, especially on the joint hours of paid work and the time pressure of dual-earner couples by analyzing the joint hours of paid work, that is the sum of paid work hours of couples. This is to study work hours at the household level instead of the individual level for the purpose of examining the effects of the changes of the distribution of the household types. The analysis was confirmed with the data from Lifetime Use Survey conducted by N.S.O.(National Statistical Office), which have both workweeks by self-reported questions and daily work hours by time-diary method. It was recognized that the dual-earner couples experience the time conflict between work time and the other lifetime through not only weekdays but also the whole week by examining the changes of the average hours and distributions of the couples' joint hours of paid work. Moreover, the dual-earner couples with little schooling have faced the more difficult situation in balancing work and family because of the long joint hours of paid work. And in 2004, the dual-earner couples' work hours declined less for parenting, because wives' work hours declined less for parenting in the same period.
