<주생전>의 애정삼각관계와 문학치료적 의미 = Love triangle of Jusaengjun and the possibility of using it as a literacy therapy

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, the author analyzed the love triangle of characters (Baedo, Jusaeng, and Sunhwa) and examined the possibility of using this folktale as a tool of literacy therapy by studying the problems in self epic of these three characters.
First of all, love triangle of Jusaengjun happened in the realm of man and woman epic. For instance, Baedo insisted her loving relationship with Jusaeng in the realm of husband and wife even though he loved another woman (Sunhwa). This is a source of problem in their love triangle.
There were also several problems in characters’ self epic. First, Baedo wanted to continue her relationship with Jusaeng based on his written promise. However, his written promise did not guarantee this love relationship. Even though Baedo knew that Jusaeng loved another woman, still she attached to him and wanted to keep their relationship. Second, Jusaeng did not keep his promise he made when he first met Baedo. In addition, Jusaeng did not behave honestly. He was self-absorbed so he only focused himself and did not think about Baedo’s feeling and care about her emotion. Third, Sunwha knew about Jusaeng’s relationship with Baedo, but she only cared about her emotion so she had a relationship with Jusaeng. Sunhwa didn’t care about Baedo’s situation as well as emotion.
The love triangle of Jusaengjun is happening continuously until the present. This folktale can be used for examining of self epic and understanding feelings of other people.
