석유제품의 유통구조와 가격 변화 분석

This study focuses on the petroleum products price change by distribution structure. The petroleum products market in Korea is ruled by oligopolistic oil refinery companies which can determine their distribution structure by choosing type of gas-station ownership, independent ownership gas-station or company operation gas-station. The different distribution structure of petroleum product can affect oil refinery company profits and the consumer prices. The consumer prices of petroleum products are the highest and oil refining firm s profits are maximized when all oil refinery companies distribute their product through independent ownership gas-stations. However, if all gas stations are vertically integrated by oil refinery companies, then the consumer prices of petroleum products are the lowest and oil refining companies profits are minimized. Both all independent ownership gas-stations structure and all company operation gas-stations structure are the Nash equilibrium distribution structures in the petroleum product distribution market. However, if oil refinery companies fix the price in collusion, then competitions in gas-station level do not affect the consumer price of petroleum product at all.
