해방 후 김기림의 한글 전용 논의에 대하여(Ⅰ) -논의의 맥락과 관련한 몇 가지 문제를 중심으로 = On the Discussion on the Exclusive Use of Hangeul of Kim Girim in the Liberation Period(1)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Kim Girim published four consecutive papers on Exclusive use of Hangeul from October 1948, when it had been two months since the Republic of Korea founded and Joseon Munhakga Dongmaeng fell to pieces with Im Hwa, Kim Namcheon, Lee Wonjo and Lee Taejun gone to North Korea. What did it mean to Kim to write on Exclusive use of Hangeul? Why did he spend his time on doing this? This paper dealt with these issues. Specifically this paper investigated what occurred in the Committee of Korean Language(or Korean Textbook) in the winter of 1945, the context in which Kim published a paper on Enlightenment Movement including establishment of plain style of Korean at the 1st Conference of Joseon(Korea) Writers, and the political context in which Kim published four papers on Exclusive use of Hangeul after October 1948. Kim thought the Exclusive use of Hangeul and the establishment of plain style of Korean as the keys to establishing a democratic country and solidifying it. They were not just academic tasks but also political tasks to Kim.
