뷔스띠에의 조형성을 활용한 이브닝드레스 디자인 연구

국문 초록 (Abstract)

장식이나 전략적 노출은 현대사회 여성의 복식에서 매우 중요한 표현 방법으로 사용된다. 장식이나 전략적 노출을 통한 매력의 극대화라는 측면에서 가장 차별적인 복식은 이브닝드레스라 할 수 있는데, 이브닝드레스는 여성의 미적 아름다움을 표현하기 위해 다양한 소재와 장식 등 조형적 요소를 적용한다. 이 연구는 장식이나 전략적 노출이라는 특성을 잘 나타낼 수 있는 방법으로 뷔스띠에의 조형적 특성을 반영한 이브닝드레스를 제시하고자 하였다. 뷔스띠에는 여성의 상체를 중심으로 여성성을 강조하고 곡선을 유려하게 나타낼 수 있는 기능을 제공하기 때문에 미적 아름다움을 극대화 할 수 있고, 뷔스띠에가 가진 조형적 특성으로 인해 여성성을 더욱 강조할 수 있다.
코르셋과 브래지어가 결합한 뷔스띠에는 적극적으로 여성의 몸매를 보정하고 실루엣을 강조하기 위한 것으로서 이브닝드레스에 적용할 경우 독특한 효과를 발휘할 수 있다. 이는 전위성과 기능성, 관능성이라는 세 가지 차원에서 논의할 수 있다.
전위성은 뷔스띠에 뿐만 아니라 속옷에 사용된 전반적인 장식과 소재가 외부로 표현되면서 여성성을 강조하여 성적매력을 부각시켜 여성의 자기표현을 더욱 강하게 한다. 이는 혁신적으로 기존에 접하지 못하였던 새로운 시도의 의미도 가진다. 기능성은 의복안에서 실루엣을 위해 존재한 뷔스띠에가 외부로 드러나면서 본래의 기능인 보정의 기능을 충실히 하고 심리적 만족을 제공한다. 관능성은 사람들에게 외부의복의 안에 위치하고 있는 것으로 각인된 뷔스띠에나 가터벨트가 외부로 드러나면서 감정을 유발하기 때문에 나타나는 것으로 볼 수 있다.
이러한 측면에서 여성성을 강조하는 이브닝드레스에 뷔스띠에의 조형적 특성의 적용은 매우 효과적이라고 할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 현 뷔스띠에를 중심으로 뷔스띠에의 조형적 특성을 활용하여 여성의 신체를 부각시키고 전위성, 기능성, 관능성을 부각할 수 있는 여덟 가지의 이브닝드레스 작품을 제시하였다. 오랜 역사를 가지고 발전하며, 시대적 상황 그리고 여성의 자기표현이 함축된 속옷의 특성을 현대사회에서 다양하게 적용될 수 있는바 앞으로 이러한 작업이 지속되기를 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Decorations or strategic exposure are used as an important expressional method in costumes of modern society women. In terms of maximizing the attraction through decorations or strategic exposure, the most discriminatory costumes can be called the evening dress, where the evening dress are applied with figurative elements such as a variety of materials and decorations in order to express the aesthetic beauty of women. This study has proposed the evening dress applied with figurative characteristics of bustier as a method of showing the characteristics called the decorations or strategic exposure. Since in bustier, it provides the function of showing the flowing curve and emphasizes on the femininity focused on the upper body of women, it can maximize the aesthetic beauty and further emphasize the femininity due to the formative characteristics of the bustier.
Bustier combined with corsets and bras can actively correct the body of women, and when applied to the evening dress in order to emphasize the silhouette, it can exert a unique effect. This can be discussed in terms of three levels of potential, functionality and sensuality.
The potential emphasizes the femininity as the overall decorations and materials used in underwear as well as the bustier is expressed externally which emphasizes the sex appeal and the self-expression of women becomes stronger. In innovative sense, this has the meaning of new attempt which was not available in the past. The functionality provides psychological satisfaction and faithfully plays the original corrective function as the bustier inside the costume which existed for silhouette is exposed externally. To the people, sensuality can be seen as inducing the emotions as the stamped bustier or carter belt located inside the outer garment are exposed externally.
In this aspect, applying the figurative characteristics of bustier on the evening dress which emphasize the femininity can be a very effective way. Therefore, this study has highlighted the body of females by utilizing the formative characteristics of bustier focusing on the current bustier, and proposed eight types of evening dresses that can emphasize the potential, functionality and sensuality. As the characteristics of underwear implied with self-expression of women and the situation of the era was developed with a long history which can be applied in various ways in modern society, hopefully this work can be continued in the future.
