신제도주의 기업이론은 경제적 영역에서의 정치의 복원을 가능케 하는가? : 코우즈, 사이몬, 하트를 중심으로 = Can New Institutional Economics Restore Politics in Economic Sphere?

국문 초록 (Abstract)

경제학이 “해결된 정치적 문제”를 다루는 학문이기 위해서는 계약의 완전함이 가정되어 있어야 한다. 하지만 모든 사안을 포괄하는 계약을 작성할 수 있다는 가정은 허구이며, 불완전한 계약의 상황에서는 불확정 영역에 놓이게 되는 사안들을 둘러싼 계약 당사자들 사이에 갈등의 여지가 존재한다. 이 글에서는 노동자와 기업가 간에 맺어지는 계약이 본질적으로 ‘불완전한 계약’일 수밖에 없다는 것에서 출발하여, 불완전한 계약 하에서 맺어지는 관계에는 불가피하게 권위 행사의 문제가 존재할 수밖에 없다는 것을 보이고자 한다. 이러한 문제 의식은 일차적으로 (신)제도 경제학의 출발점을 이루고 있지만, 신제도경제학에서 권력의 문제는 오직 불충분하게만 다뤄지고 있음을 확인하고, 그 불충분함이 어디서 기인하는지를 찾아볼 것이다. 아울러 경제적 관계에 내재한 권력의 문제에 대한 마르크스 경제학적 관점이 신제도경제학과 어떤 점에서 궤를 같이하며, 또 어떤 점에서 불충분함을 메워줄 수 있는지를 살펴봄으로써, 경제적 관계에서의 권력의 문제에 대한 통합적 이론틀 정립의 가능성을 모색해보고자 한다.(JEL: B5, D8, J4)

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

For economics to be a discipline on "a solved political problem", a contract should be assumed to be complete. However the assumption that one can write a complete contract that specifies all the aspects of the transaction is not valid. Due to contract incompleteness, there remain undetermined aspects of the transaction, which opens a possibility of conflicts between parties. This paper shares ideas with New Institutional Economics in that labor contract is only incompletely written and the problem of authority inevitably arises in employment relationship. However this paper shows that the problem of power is only insufficiently analyzed in New Institutional Economics and suggests reasons of this insufficiency. Also the paper examines how and in what aspect New Institutional Economics is related to Marxian approach on economic power, and suggests that Marxian economics can shed lights on the problem of power which only insufficiently formulated in New Institutional Economics. Finally this paper seeks a unified theoretical framework on power in economic sphere.
