직관주의적 진리개념

국문 초록 (Abstract)

직관주의적으로 적합한 진리개념은 무엇인가? 수학적 진술에 적합하게 적용될 수 있는 직관주의적 진리개념은 진술이 참이라는 것과 진술이 참으로 인식된다는 것 사이에 얼마나 큰 간격을 허용할 수 있는가? 필자는 이런 문제에 대한 답을 모색하기 위해서 직관주의적 진리개념에 관한 대표적인 이론들을 세 가지로 분류하여 검토하고 평가한다. 덤밋에 의해 제안된 것들로, 수학적 진리와 인식간의 간격을 허용하지 않는 강하게 주관적 진리개념과 그 간격을 최소한으로 허용하는 약하게 주관적인 진리개념을 검토하여, 이들이 시제를 내재하게 되는 이유를 밝힌다. 이런 시제적인 진리개념들은 심각한 문제들을 지니며, 이런 문제들의 한 근원은 올바른 주장가능성 조건과 주장된 내용을 제대로 구분하지 못했기 때문이라고 진단한다. 프라위츠에 의해 제안된 것으로, 수학적 진리와 인식 간의 더 큰 간격을 허용하는 객관적인 진리개념은 이런 문제들을 지니지 않으면서 직관주의적으로 수용될 수 있는 개념이라는 논제를 옹호할 것이지만, 이 논제가 최종적으로 수용될 수 있기 위해서는 어떤 문제들이 해결되어야 하는지 밝힐 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

What is the intuitionistically appropriate concept of truth? How wide a gap can an intuitionist allow between the truth of, and the recognition of the truth of a mathematical statement? In order to seek an answer, I examine three prominent intuitionistic conceptions of truth. Dummett's strongly subjective conception of truth does not allow any gap. Dummett's weakly subjective conception allows only a minimal distance. As a consequence, these two notions are inherently tensed. Following the lead of Prawitz, I argue that these two tensed notions of truth face serious problems. I argue that an origin of these problems is that they fail to distinguish between the condition for correct assertibility and the content of an assertion. Prawitz's objective notion of truth allows a wider gap between truth and recognition of truth. I defend Prawitz's tenseless notion of truth against some objections. However, I also exhibit some problems in Prawitz's concept of truth which have to be solved before his conception can be accepted as an intuitionistically satisfactory concept of truth.
