We report a case of inflammatory pseudotumor of the liver that, on imaging studies, may mimic a malignant neoplasm. The fine needle aspiration cytologic features were rnisinterpreted as malignant cells. Under the impression of hepatic malignant neoplasm, the patient underwent hepatic resection. Histologically, the tumor was composed of inflammatory cells, such as lymphocytes, plasma cells, and histiocytes as well as collagen fibrous tissue. (Korean J Gastroenternl 1996;28: 571 - 575)
