지역혁신체계와 산업구조 다양성의 경제적 효과 = Economic Effects of Regional Innovation Systems and Industrial Structure Diversity

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 전국 16개 시․도의 2008년부터 2022년까지의 패널 데이터를 이용하여 지역혁신역량이 지역경제성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 산업다양성의 조절효과를 실증적으로 규명하였다. 위계적 회귀분석과 패널 회귀분석을 적용하였으며, RV, HHI를 산업다양성 지수로 활용해 결과의 해석력 및 신뢰성을 강화하였다.
분석결과, 지식 창출/확산은 경제활동에서 양(+)의 직접효과를 보였으나, 노동시장에서 음(-)의 영향을 미쳤고, 네트워킹은 양 영역 모두에서 일관된 양(+)의 효과를 확인하였다. 지역정책은 경제활동에서 양(+)의 효과가 있었으나, 패널 회귀분석에서는 유의하지 않았다. 산업다양성 조절효과는 지식 창출/확산 상호작용에서 경제활동 음(-), 노동시장 양(+)의 효과를, 네트워킹 상호작용에서 양(+), 지역정책 상호작용에서 일부 음(-)의 효과를 보였다. 또한, 산업다양성을 나타내는 두 지수 모두 일관된 결과를 보여 산업다양성이 지역혁신역량과 지역경제성과에 있어 조절적 영향을 보이고 있음을 입증하였다.
본 연구는 지역혁신역량과 산업다양성의 상호작용 조절효과를 통합 분석해 학문적 폭을 넓혔으며, 경제활동과 노동시장 간 상이한 효과는 전통 경제성장이론을 반증하는 결과이다. 네트워킹 강화가 산업다양성 환경에서 안정적 성장동력임을 강조하며, 과도한 다양성 확대는 혁신 효과를 약화시킬 수 있으므로 산업집중과 균형 전략이 필요하다. 따라서, 지역별 맞춤 정책으로 경제․고용 차이를 고려한 지원체계를 제안한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzes the impact of regional innovation capacity on regional economic performance using panel data from 16 provinces in Korea from 2008 to 2022, and empirically examines the moderating effect of industrial diversity. Hierarchical regression analysis and panel regression analysis were applied, with RV and HHI utilized as industrial diversity indices to enhance the interpretability and reliability of the results.
Analysis results show that knowledge creation/dissemination exhibited a positive direct effect on economic activity but a negative impact on the labor market, while networking demonstrated consistent positive effects across both domains. Regional policy showed a positive effect on economic activity but was not significant in panel regression analysis. The moderating effects of industrial diversity revealed negative effects on economic activity and positive effects on the labor market in knowledge creation/dissemination interactions, positive effects in networking interactions, and partial negative effects in regional policy interactions. Both diversity indices yielded consistent results, confirming the moderating influence of industrial diversity on the relationship between regional innovation capacity and economic performance.
This study expands the academic scope by integrating the interactional moderating effects of regional innovation capacity and industrial diversity, with differing effects between economic activity and the labor market challenging traditional economic growth theories. It emphasizes networking reinforcement as a stable growth driver in diverse industrial environments and suggests balancing industrial concentration and diversity, as excessive diversification may weaken innovation effects. Thus, tailored regional policies considering economic-employment disparities are proposed.
