자살시도 전력이 후속 자살위험에 미치는 영향: 자살에 대한 태도의 매개모형 검증을 통한 예방접종 메시지 전략의 모색 = Effects of Suicidal Attempt on Subsequent Suicidal Risk: Testing Mediation Model of Attitudes toward Suicide and Searching for Inoculation Message Strategies

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Suicide has been the top of Korean mental health policy agenda for the past decade. Despite implementation various anti-suicide measures, suicide rate of Korea are still the highest among OECD member countries. The present study explored evidences to design effective messages for suicide prevention with a special focus on suicidal attempters in Korea. Using data from KGSS(2009)structural equation model was proposed to test mediating roles of attitudes toward suicide between previous suicidal attempts and subsequent risk of suicide.
Based on the results, we argue that communication strategies to design and deliver inoculation messages should be utilized for suicide prevention for the vulnerable population.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

자살은 한국의 가장 심각한 정신보건문제로 대두된 지 오래이나 자살예방을 위한 커뮤니케이션 중재방안에 대한 연구는 아직까지 희소한 실정이다. 본 연구는 한국을 대표하는 공신력 있는 자료인 ‘한국종합사회조사(2009)’에 대한 구조방정식 모형 분석을 통해서 자살에 대해 가지는 자살시도자들의태도가 일정 부분 자살시도 전력과 후속 자살 위험을 매개하고 있음을 밝혔다. 분석 결과, 자살시도전력이 자살에 대한 부정적 태도의 매개적 역할을 통하여 자살하지 않을 의지를 낮추는 효과는 작동되고 있지 않는 반면에, 자살시도 전력이 자살에 대한 긍정적 태도의 매개적 역할을 통하여 자살하지않을 의지를 낮추는 효과는 작동되고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로, 본 연구는 자살시도 경험을 가진 사람들을 위한 커뮤니케이션 전략의 일환으로 소위 예방접종 메시지 전략을 제안하였다. 자살에대한 긍정적 태도에 대처할 수 있는 저항적 예방접종 메시지가 자살시도자들을 위하여 제작되고 제공되어야 할 필요에 대해 논증하였다. 본 연구는 자살시도의 전력을 가진 사람들이 후속 자살시도의 위험에 빠지지 않게 하기 위해서는 그들이 자살을 긍정적으로 바라보는 데에 저항하도록 도움을 주는것이 상대적으로 긴요하다는 것을 한국을 대표하는 인구집단을 대상으로 분석함으로써 밝힌 것에 의의가 있다.
