Recently, the international regulations about the exhaust emission of the motorcycle have been strengthened. Therefore, motorcycle engineers has interests in a technology that applied to automotive. The typical examples are electronic injection control system and VVT system. Among them, electronic injection control system has been studied a lot, but VVT system has not as much as others. The reasons are not only cost problem but also spacially limited space to install these systems. However VVT system has good enough value to be studied for improving engine power and decreasing emissions. That is why, in this study VVT system was applied to a electronically controlled prototype motorcycle engine using numerical analysis program "Ricardo WAVE" and also engine performance test was done experimentally to verify the numerically analyzed result. In addition steady state flow experiment was conducted to achieve intake air flux that is closely related to engine performance and efficiency.
