In rapidly changing world situations, the current development of IT(information technology) has allowed an firms' organization to change its function, management and competitive strategy and others. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationships between firms' IT level and performances, to analysis the roles of organizational structure in the relationship. In this study, whether the contextual factors have moderating effects on the relation between firms' IT level and performance is also empirically investigated. In this paper, four IT level variables(technology level, information level, function level, management level), three moderating variables(complexity, formalization, decentralization), two performance variables(profitablity, growth) were selected. The samples for empirical test were collected from the manufactoring industry and the service business. The results of the empirical test were as follows;first, in the correlation analysis, the results show that the firms' IT level and performance have not directly strong relationships except for the managemental level. It is show that all firm sticks to the managemental level for their performance emprovement. Second, in the regression analysis, the results show that the interactive firms' IT level has a positive impact on their performance(especially profitablity). Third, in Z-test for moderating effect analysis, the sample was divided by two groups according to the median value of organizational structure variables. It was proved that a partial different between firms' IT level and performance by environmental factors.
