    Achieving a proper acoustic environment is essential in performance venue design. While Western music utilizes standardized reverberation times, clear benchmarks for Gugak remain undefined. Moving beyond the narrow scope of previous research, this study expanded its investigation to seven pieces categorized by instrumental characteristics. The methodology integrated real-space impulse responses with anechoic chamber recordings. Expert hearing experiments identified a distinct preference for reverberation times between 1.2 and 1.4 seconds, diverging from the 0.8-second range highlighted in prior literature. This trend was particularly strong for sustained instruments like the Daegeum and Haegeum. These results confirm that optimal acoustic values for Gugak are variable, depending on specific timbral traits. This study provides a vital scientific framework for the architectural design of specialized performance venues dedicated to the unique sonic requirements of the tradition.
