      Car MMS techlonogy was developed in 1991 for the first time and it represent today's modern technology. This is a surveying instrument machine so that is easy to approaching many geographical features area and also quickly gain or access the data so it's very effective to get a geographical information.
      Public demands and interests are increasing as private initiatives of geographic informations has invigorating.
      This experiment is for comparative analysis that using 4S-VAN system to get the geographical informations which is avaliable nowadays, installing a target to street facilities and traffic facilities, get an information of geographical space through the coordinates surveying beside same spot by Total station surveying as well.
      To have this, we got images by 4S-VAN and result of Total Station surveying in 14 facilities on the Dae-Jeon Dae Duk district street. We compared each coordinates spot accuracy so we evaluate a adequacy, effectiveness and economical efficiency of 4S-VAN. The average range of numerical error value was 0.150m.
      So 4S-VAN system was suitable for edit/renewal geographical information, DB setup business or etc.
      Also 4S-VAN system can access the data with high accuracy and quickly so it saves the time and expenses compare to previous one especially when setup the GIS DB on the street.
      Such technology studying has begun in early 2000 years, there are some products already available in domestic and external market, so it can be apply to latest geographical information setup system as a real-time.
      And also various geographic informations from multi-sensor that transform the informations of vicinity of street establishment image and location coordinate to visual DB style shows probability of high growth in geographic information system.
