농어촌 소규모학교의 방과후학교 미술교육 활성화를 위한 참여자 인식조사: 초등학교 학부모와 미술강사를 중심으로 = A Study on Participants' Perceptions for Revitalizing After-School Art Education in Small Rural Schools: Focusing on Elementary School Parents and Art Instructors

The purpose of this study is to explore ways to revitalize art education in small after-school schools in rural areas. To this end, a survey was conducted on 45 parents of elementary school students in Jeollabuk-do, which is a representative rural area where the proportion of the rural population is high in the country, and the school-age population decreases and the proportion of small schools is remarkable, and a mixed study was conducted in parallel with in-depth interviews with three after-school art education instructors in the area. Statistical analysis of the questionnaire data used the SPSS program, and the open-ended questionnaire and interview data were analyzed through repetitive comparative analysis.
As a result of the study, parents and art instructors agreed that after-school art education plays an important role in expanding the cultural and artistic experience of children in rural areas and developing creativity and emotions. Parents with participation experience responded that the main purpose was to develop creativity, and parents who did not participate pointed out the lack of program and lack of publicity as major factors. Major tasks also appeared were the problem of access to information of multicultural and grandparents, poor physical environment, and difficulty in supplying and receiving instructors. Accordingly, the need to improve the operation by diversifying programs reflecting regional characteristics, introducing a traveling instructor system, operating joint curriculum, developing online materials, and strengthening emotion-oriented art education and instructor expertise was raised. This study is significant in that it analyzes the needs and improvement plans of the after-school art education field in rural areas and derives problems and activation plans for after-school schools in rural areas.
