지리를 통한 표현적 글쓰기 전략의 적용과 효과 = Application and Effect of Expressive Writing Strategy through Geography

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is based on the idea that an expressive writing is a typical one which can function as a learning device to systemize learned knowledge in any subject and bring about the expansion of thinking power. The writing class model was designed for the improvement of writing through geography and the improvement of geography through writing. And 10-period writing lessons were given using the strategies such as writing frames, directed activities related to texts, and audience-centered writing in order to improve the expressive writing ability. The results show that positive changes are found in the abilities of recognizing the points of a task, expressing one`s thought clearly, and understanding the geography terminology. Moreover, they confirm not only the entire increment in the length of writings but the advancement of the structure and organization in writing. That is to say, the study demonstrates that a writing class based on the strategies helps enhance both the comprehensive ability in learning a subject and the writing ability, and that these two capabilities operate in a complementary way.
