지역신문 시민기자들의 시민저널리즘에 대한 인식과 평가에 대한 연구 - 전북지역 일간신문 시민기자들을 중심으로 = A Study of Recognition and Estimation for Civic Journalism and Civic Reporters of Local News Papers - In the center of the citizen reporter of daily newspaper of Jeonbuk region

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 지역신문의 시민기자들의 시민저널리즘에 대한 인식과 평가이다. 이를 위해 구체적으로 전북지역 일간신문 시민기자들을 대상으로 개방형 심층 인터뷰를 진행함으로써 ‘시민저널리즘에 대한 지역신문 시민기자들의 일반적 인식’, ‘지역신문에서 시민저널리즘 적용에 대한 시민기자들의 인식’에 대한 논의를 진행하였다. 분석결과 지역신문 시민기자들은 관행이론이 아닌 신선함을 꼽았으며 시민저널리즘에 긍정적 견해를 갖고 있었다. 장점으로는 시민들의 전문적 직업의 다양성이 기사 작성에 도움이 되는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 단점으로는 시민의 입장을 대변하다보니 적절한 중립적 견해를 밝히기가 어렵다는 점이다. 지역신문에 시민저널리즘을 적용하는 부분이 미치는 영향은 상당히 크다고 인식한다. 지역신문에서 시민저널리즘의 적용은 어떠한 방식이 되어야 한다고 보는 하는 부분에서 응답자들은 전문성 함양을 꼽는다. 지역신문에서 시민저널리즘 적용의 장애요소로 지적하는 부분은 지면부족, 기사 편집으로 의도하지 않은 기사가 나왔을 때의 당혹감, 그리고 적은 고료와 짧은 시민기자 기간이었다. 또한 무분별한 시민기자 위촉으로 인한 자질 문제도 지적되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research is about the recognition and estimation for the civic journalism of civic reporters of local news papers. We have discussed about the general recognition of the civic journalism by performing open interviews with the civic reporters in daily news papers in Jeonbook area. As a result, the civic reporters have freshness instead of habitual behavior and they are positive on the civic journalism. One advantage is that their various job experties. And they help composing the reports. Disadvantage is that it is difficult to show the objective opinions because they represent the civics. The interviewees recognize that the effect of civic journalism is huge to local news papers. They recognize the development of their experties should be desirable for applying civic journalism to local news papers. The obstacles for applying civic journalism in local news papers are, 1) lack of space 2) unintended report by editing, 3) low payment, and 4) short periods of civic reporters. And the civic reporters quality problem is also pointed because of no good selection of the reporters.
