대중독자의 독서 양상과 비판적 읽기 필요성 = Reading Aspects of Popular Reader and Critical Reading

The purpose of this study is to define popular readers, analyze reading aspects of popular reader, and then propose necessity of critical reading in current society. ‘popular reader’ means two: mass and popular. It has been used by three ways, as social perspectives, Fascism perspectives, and Marxism perspectives. Specially third perspectives describe it as to have the same qualities, to being irrational, today third perspectives is accepted mostly. So popular readers do trendy reading activity, which they means to be driven to bestseller books. In Korea, popular readers appear 1920~1930’s with change into modern society, which they are compared with traditional readers, elite readers. But this study divides with two, first means popular readers as critical intellectual people, and second means popular readers as homo consummens. The first popular readers do critical reading with independence in selecting book and in presenting self-reaction from book. Contrastively the second popular readers do uncritical reading with dependence on trendy books in selecting book and sympathize with other people’s opinion on internet in presenting self-reaction from book. They do raeding as consumption of social code. Therefore second popular readers as homo consummens need practices-experiences of critical reading.
