Reading activity based on intertextuality for understanding, This paper investigates reading procedure which is based intertextuality. This discussion is to decide the stage of understanding which is occurred in reader``s mind during read a text. Reading action consist of four process which are decoding, reading comprehension, interpretation and understanding. Final goal of Reading is understanding of text. A text consist of content and meaning. The content IS appearanced by reading comprehension and meaning manifest by interpreting. Therefor reading activity have comprehension of content and understanding of meaning. Reader construct three texts which make a series of stages in mind while read a text: perceived text. interpreted text. understanding text. The perceived text which is constructed text for the first time in reading process is made by decoding of sign and reading comprehension of content. The interpreted text which is constructed while searching the meaning of text is made by result of interpretation. The understanding text is constructed by reader``s understanding of meaning of text. Constructing Process of these three texts is affected by some other texts. So, these texts have intertextuality.
