The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of mother\'s CHEONG and parenting behavior, mother\'s CHEONG and child temperament, child temperament and parenting behavior. 235 mothers of normal preschoolers(118 girls and 117 boys) between the ages of four and six years participated in this study. Modified PTQ(Parent and Teacher Temperament Questionnaire) for children 3-7 years of age, mother\'s CHEONG and the IPBI(Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory: Mother Form) were administered respectively to 235 mothers to assess their parenting behavior and their children\'s temperament. The statistical procedures adopted for the analyses of the data included percentiles and Pearson\'s correlation. The results of this study were the following: There were significant correlations between mother\'s CHEONG and parenting behaviors. And between the five CHEONG factors and four parenting behavior factors were significantly related. The five Mother\'s CHEONG factors were significantly related to the five temperament factors. In addition, negative correlations between CHEONG and emotionality, CHEONG and rhythmicity. Results also showed positive correlations between mother\'s parenting behaviors (reasoning guidance, limit setting, parent involvement & intimacy, and responsiveness) and children\'s temperament(adaptability, activity, rhythmicity, responsiveness, and emotionality).
