This essay is focused on the contemplation regarding the translation aspect of Tamla Poem, which is the 35-passage poem summarized as Choi Bu, well known in the literary world through Geumnam Pyohaerok(China Travelogue), coming to Jeju in November 1487 (Sungjong 18) as a governmental official and sings about the natural characteristics, mountains, and rivers of Jeju during the 50 days before setting sail. There are 10 literary works that have been revealed to contain Choi Bu`s Tamla Poem, which are Lee Won-jin`s Tamlaji, Lee Won-jo`s Tamlaji Abstract, Tamlaji of unknown authorship (Japan Tokyo University copy), Dam Su-gye`s Revised Tamlaji, Kim Sang-heon`s Namsarok (Joseon Royal Library, Chungeum collection), Lee Jeung`s Namsailrok, Kim Seok-ik`s Shimjaejib, Tamjin Choi Geneology Literature, and Oh Mun-bok`s Tamlasisun. Among these literary works, literature that has been translated into Korean are 8 pieces, including Lee Won-jin`s Tamlaji (Kim Hang-ok, Kim Sang-jo, Oh Moon-bok), Lee Won-jo`s Tamlaji Abstract (Oh Moon-bok), Dam Su-gye`s Revised Tamlaji (Oh Moon-bok), Kim Sang-heon`s Namsarok (Park Yong-hoo, Kim Hee-dong, Hong Gi-pyo), Lee Jeung`s Namsailrok (Kim Ik-soo), Lee Hyeong-sang`s Namhwanbakmul (Oh Chang-myeong), and Oh Mun-bok`s Tamlasisun (Oh Moon-bok), and translation aspect has been studied by comparing false Chinese characters, misreading, false translation, and inaccurate annotates in the entire translation of Tamla Poem. As a result, not only are letters being slightly modified, but such facts are being overlooked in the translation process despite misprinting. Furthermore, inaccurate reading of the original writing, improper interpretations of proper nouns such as place or name, and inaccurate translations of traditional incidents have been verified in several places.
