The aim of this paper is to investigate the practical scientific character in JoongBong`s reformational thought who was known for a reformer and a patriotic soldier during ImJin war of Yi dynasty. JoongBong, as it has been known, was thought from Yi yi and followed Chokwangjo, head of Moral philosophy and Yi Hwang`s idea. He was a great scholar and patriot who even participated in the war, national ordeals and disgrace but was not judged right during his life. He was thought as a ‘tricky` fellow by his associates and a foxy soul by the King Sunjo. Even his teacher, Yul Kok judged him to turn a deaf ear to other`s counsel and to assert himself strongly for his administrative records. Of course, all those evaluation resulted from his strong disposition taking an unyielding stand against injustice. Joongbong, however, didn`t care of any evaluations but was a Ethics scholar to the bone for Democracy, Reformer and patriotic soldier who only took care of the national future and security. His spirit like that had been developed as a fidelity thought later, such as Kim Sanghun`s morale during Byungjagoras war, Lee Hangro`s WeejungChuksa idea at the end of Yi dynasty, Choi Yikhyeon and You Inseok`s patriotic soldier spirit against Japanese Invasion And with his right critical attitude to the real life and realistic planning, his national administration had largely affected the forming of Practical idea after that.
