The purpose of this study is to analyze the optimal morphological characteristics of female dancer. The optimal morphological characteristic is the body shapes of ideal morphological characteristics from training demands, selection pressures of dance type, and genetic factors of dancer. In study 162 female dancer completed the measurement of 39 anthropometric variables. To assess of the optimal morphological characteristics of female dancer, ANOVA and Overlap Zone(OZ) analysis were used. The results of this study was follows. There are morphological characteristics of elite korean dancer as more higher in muscle mass, foot length and fat free mass and as more lower in subscapular, abdominal, iliac crest skinfold site, ratio of tibiale mediale-trochanterion tibiale and fat mass than the general dancer. There are morphological characteristics of elite modern dancer as more higher in iliospinale to foor, tibiale laterale to floor, height, fat free mass, muscle mass, biacromiale, weight and sitting height and as more lower in medial calf and front thigh skinfold site than the general dancer. There are morphoogical characteristics of elite ballet dance as more higher in ectomorphy, ratio of iliospinale to floor-height and ratio of muscle mass and as more lower in mesomorphy, biiliocristal, supraspinale, iliac crest, abdominal, triceps, endomorphy, fat mass, front thigh and medial calf skinfold site and anterior posterior chest depth than the general dancer.
