초등학교 현장의 독서 문화 비판 = A study of reading culture in elementary school

The understanding of text is to change the mind of reader. The reader reconstructs the his mind through grasp the meaning of text. I named it ‘qualitative reading’. We are concerned about reading culture because of we have the desire of qualitative reading of student. The elementary school reading culture must develop into the qualitative reading. In this paper, I analyze the attitude of the social and the school of awareness about reading. It is for to suggest methods of improvement the reading culture in school. The social concerns of student reading are take on four aspects. The first is to make offer the catalogue of reading books to student. The second is to give the absolute time of reading for student. The third is to help student to do quantitative reading. The fourth is to emphasis the form of story genre. These are internal causes to encourage student in the reading culture. The school concerns of student reading are take on three aspects. The first is to improve in student`s reading ability by means of teach reading strategies. The second is to stress student-centered interpretation of meaning in text by using reader`s background knowledge. The third is to promote social interaction in small group to exchange the views with other readers. The student reading is changed into the qualitative reading which is to explicit his knowledge, to reconstruction of his idea, and to enlarge of his life to ONSAM. The reading culture should be renewed by the reform of reader’ consciousness.
