한 교수자의 외식 프랜차이즈 수업 경험에 관한 자문화기술지 = An autoethnography of one instructor's experience teaching a course on restaurant franchising

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 외식 프랜차이즈 기업에 대한 올바른 이해를 위해, 한 대학 교원의 ‘외식 프랜차이즈’ 관련 강좌에서 경험과 성찰 그리고 수강생들의 인식을 함께 다룬 질적연구 자문화기술지이다. 수강생들은 호스피탈리티 분야를 전공하면서도 고정관념이나 주변의 인식, 일방적인 언론 보도로 프랜차이즈에 대한 이해가 부족하였고 부정적 시각까지 가지고 있었다. 이는 나의 프랜차이즈 초기의 혼돈을 생각하면 이해가 가능한 일이다. 그럼에도 프랜차이즈 산업이 호스피탈리티 분야의 학생들에게 대안이 될 수 있음을 역설하였고, 토론을 통해 수강생들의 의문점을 해결하려는 시도를 하였다. 이 연구를 통해 학생들이 프랜차이즈 산업에 대한 바른 이해와 함께, 이 분야에서 자신의 미래를 만들어 나가는 계기가 되기를 기대한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is an autoethnography, a qualitative exploration of the experiences and reflections of a university professor in a food franchising course, as well as the perceptions of students, aimed at better understanding food franchise companies. Despite majoring in the hospitality field, the students in the course exhibited a lack of understanding and even a negative perception of franchising, influenced by stereotypes, perceptions, and one-sided media reports. This perspective is understandable, considering the challenges faced during my early days in the franchise industry. However, I endeavoured to highlight the potential of the franchise industry as an alternative for students in the hospitality sector and address their doubts through discussion. It is my hope that this study will provide students with a deeper understanding of the franchise industry and assist them in shaping their future in this field.
