Bangmok of the civil service examination is the list of candidates who passed the exam. It is often regarded as Munmugwabangmok or Samabangmok published by the passers as a souvenir. However, there are various types of bangmok which show differences in the editor, use, and contents. This paper classifies various kinds of bangmok and aims to understand the characteristics of such materials, especially focusing on officially written bangmoks during the examination. They are important as base materials for exam administration and also as references for later bangmoks.
There were two types of bangmok created during the examination. One was document type created to report to the king and the other one was book type to report to the higher-level office. This paper examines the compilation and characteristics of these materials.
